THE BENEFITS
Expanded metal carries several advantages over other mesh products:
- the mesh
is made from one single piece of material, there is no assemblage of
separate parts, whether by interweaving, interslotting, brazing or welding.
The mesh cannot unravel or work loose and there is no possibility of
fretting strands.
- Even when
cut into irregular shapes and left unframed expanded metal does not
fray.
- Expanded
metal is useful in areas subject to vibration and where the mesh has
to withstand the stress of impact. It's lack of joints, welds or woven
strands make expanded metal capable of retaining it's structural integrity.
- Expanded
metal is a highly efficient conductor Of electricity, magnetic flux
and heat because of it's jointless continuity.
- Conventional
(also known as standard or regular or raised) expanded metal is ideal
for walkways, catwalks and load bearing gratings. It's surface provides
grip for tyres and rubber based footwear and it's knuckles support weight
and withstand stress better than joints or welds. Ramps for car transporters,
catwalks for sea tankers and landing platforms for drilling rigs all
benefit from the unique qualities of this product.
